If you want a change of scenery and a slower pace from your typical Indonesian style holiday then this region is for you.The Nusa Tenggara region is vastly different to your typical Indonesian landscape. West of Bali this region has hot trade winds which blow up from Australia with the flora and fauna showing similiar likeness to Austarlia's arid vegetation. It is generally cooler than Bali and in contrast has starkly different looking off-shore islands to its neighbouring islands to the east. It is still a bit of a frontier destination and the crowd factor in the region reflects this.
Nusa Tenggara has swell all year round. Although this region has some well known surf breaks it offers so much undiscovered surf potential just waiting to be found. The surf is generated by the powerful Indian Ocean ground swells rising from the south to south-west with the peak swell period being April-October. Generally from May-September the south-east trade winds dominate but with the landscape offering so many nooks and cranny's tuck away around these islands its just a matter of finding them and disovering your own piece of sufing paradise.
Crystal clear blue water, steady off-shores and constant sunshine. It has an array of beautiful beaches filled with palm groves making for that idealic dream getaway. This region is truly a dose of "Exotic Medicine for the Soul"

As with other areas of Indonesia, the best surf season in this area occur's between the months of April and October but there are plenty of breaks to tempt you all year round. These breaks work well when the winds and swell change direction. This region has many off-shore islands giving you the chance to get far away from crowds that populate the more well known spots. Powerful Indian Ocean ground swells from the S-SW work best and with a constant off-shore wind often make perfect conditions whether it be a point or reef break. This region offers surf for all capabilities depending on how big the swell size is, some breaks can hold big swells that with the right tide and wind conditions can easily produce some of the best waves you will ever surf in Indonesia.
