Uluwatu is located on the most southwest tip of Bali.  The area is characterised by limestone cliffs and an unforgettable paddle out through a cave that can get pretty hairy in big surf!  The island is mostly filled with teak forest and is home to various colonies of monkey's.  Uluwatu is not only famous for its magnificent location and views but also for its challenging and legendary surf break.

Whether you choose to stay out at Uluwatu or visit for the day, this area is a must for all surfers who travel to Bali ... watch the sunset over the temple, or surf one of the most legendary surf spots in the world.  Coupled with the awesome massages supplied by the warungs (local shops) as well as local treats, great food  and snacks such as their famous banana pancakes, Uluwatu has to be on everyones itinerary!

What's The Surf Like?

The Uluwatu coastline hosts some of the best surf spots in the world for the more advanced surfer. Not only do you have the breaks of Uluwatu, but easy access to the other 5 or so breaks along this coastline.

As with the rest of Bali, your best surf season is during the dry season from March to November when the tradewinds are blowing offshore.
