The yacht Tau is a beautifully crafted 90 foot steel ketch that is based in Suva, Fiji and owned and operated by the Philp family, the Philps have been exploring and surfing the Lau Group of islands for over 20 years and nobody can show you these islands on a more beautiful boat. Combine the Tau charters with your surf guide Adam Yared's extensive Fiji surf experience spanning over 20 years there is a wealth of knowledge to get you to the best waves on offer at the time you are cruising.

The Lau group of islands has long been off limits to all travellers and surfers alike and is only now slowly being opened to tourism and that means surf exploration. The potential for waves in this region is amazing with some of the area already being somewhat explored. The quality of waves vary with a range of breaks working in all different conditions,with some waves pitching in all shapes and sizes. Long left barrels, short right ledges. Soft small waves and very large powerfull waves. We know of a handfull of quality set-ups that have been discoverred and there will be many more epic discoveries made.

Tau Charters offer two different package options to experience the Lau Group of Islands, you can either sail out to the islands on a 7 night adventure or live large and take the 10 night deluxe package offer and fly in and fly out via seaplane. It is up to you to join STC in the quest to discover, name and surf, these new waves in their exotic location. You dont have to be first, you dont want to be last,............ you just want to be next!!!!

Package Overview
Price	Tau Charters 2010 7 night trips out of Suva includes overland transfers Nadi-Suva return, Sun departure return the following Saturday overnight from Matuku - so we don’t lose a day due to no surfing Sundays in Lau. We can also do a Frigates day trip out of Pacific Harbour as we cross the island or a surf in Suva ( either way ). Add an extra $500 for half day charter. $4000 pp/max 6 10 nights Deluxe trip way east – Lakemba, Marambo, Totoya and Matuku – On these trips we station Tau at Lakemba and fly direct there from Nadi ( great waves here ) and then we explore Southern Lau where there is a variety of great setups including Marabo and sail West to Totoya and Matuku as the trip progresses and end up back in Suva, you fly direct Suva - Nadi and meet your International flight. This is the ultimate Fiji Outer Island Experience. $7906 pp/max 6
Current Special	Opportunity to surf this rarely visited and unique area aboard the luxurious yacht Tau. Fly in and out of the region or sail there and back. There really is no limits to your fantasy charter experience in Fiji's Southern Lau Group of islands.

Food	All Tau charter includes all meals on board, 2 litres of bottled water daily. Meals will consist of locally grown fresh produce, fresh seafood and some imported meats. Beer, wine and spirits are a additional cost.
Breaks Accessed	Naivaka Right & Lefts - Totoya Island Southern Lau Group A fun playfull righthander good in light winds and rippable at 2-4 feet. There are 3 good lefts in 3 separate passages close to the right and a comfortable anchorage at Naivaka Gap on Totoya, all good in tradewinds as they are west facing passages Raiki-liku Left & Right - Lakemba Island Southern Lau Group It's all about the amazing left, the wave is offshore in tradewinds and good from 2 – 6 feet. A righthanders sits on the inside of the bay Vinakaland - Matuku Island Southern Lau Group A thick fast heavy breaking wave, it is side offshore in tradewinds and not for the fainthearted. Fun at 2-4 feet with caution advised when 6 – 8 feet Daku Left & Right - Matuku Island Southern Lau Group Daku left is a fun and playfull and great in east and north winds, collects any kind of south and east swell, it has many sections and can barrel on the good days. There is a fun right shorter and hollower on the other side of the passage that spreads the crowd Dippas - Matuku Island Southern Lau Group A thick short wave and fun at 2-4 feet Marabo Island Southern Lau Group A fantastic uninhabited island that has a quality left with many sections and breaks from 2 feet and is good in tradewinds
